This Client came to us with a problem with his existing suspended ceiling height as a new tooling machine purchased was too tall for the area. We therefore had to remove around 50m2 of existing suspended ceiling section and raise it by 600mm. This meant we had to install a 600mm upstand detail and a sloped ceiling section to meet the existing window bulkhead detail. We also had to work over an existing metal office partition and tie the ceiling in with other ceilings that had been installed at different levels.

The existing AC unit also had to be raised to suit the new raised ceiling height along with associated pipework and the ceiling lights had to be removed and re-sited as the works commenced. The lighting was LED daylight panels, which worked perfectly over the machines where a good quality of light is required. The AC unit also offered heating and cooling within the workshop office area. We also installed additional ceiling support hangers to support the ceiling services.

This was an intricate project, which also had to be completed over a weekend as the area was occupied during the week. The overall look was professional and matched the existing ceilings. This client later purchased optional polythene wrapped insulation slabs to help reduce heat loss through the ceiling tile and make the factory office warmer with the winter months fast approaching.
